Coaching Additions

The Athletic Department is excited to announce Gene Fox and Bryan Cooley as assistant coaches for boys lacrosse. They will join Head Coach Kyle Peacock in the program’s fourth season, but just the second full season due to COVID-19 complications in 2020 & 2021.

Coach Fox comes in with a long history of lacrosse coaching with Pitt County Youth Lacrosse. He graduated and played lacrosse at Division II Catawba College in Salisbury, NC. Fox currently resides in Washington, NC with his wife and kids and he is looking forward to bringing a fresh offensive mind to the coaching staff.

Coach Cooley brings defensive scheme knowledge to the coaching staff. Coach Cooley graduated and played lacrosse at Division III Methodist University in Fayetteville, NC alongside Coach Peacock. He currently resides in Greenville, NC with his wife and dog and works at Youngs Physical Therapy, a partner of JPII.

2023 Season

Lacrosse is coming off a 2-7 season in 2022 which included the school’s first lacrosse win in program history. The team did not graduate any players from last year’s squad and is looking for a breakout year in 2023.

To get an early jump on the 2023 season, players participated in fall workouts and the Duke Snowflake 6v6 Olympic style tournament in Durham on December 4, 2022. The Saints played three games against both travel & high school teams from the Triad & Triangle area.

The 2023 schedule includes 13 games including teams from the Triad, Triangle, and the coast of NC. The Saints return their top scorers on offense, key defensive players, and goalie Bryce Keel. The season starts with a scrimmage against in-town teams JH Roseand& DH Conley on February 18 from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at home. The first game of the year is at Havelock on February 27t at 6:00 p.m.
