Lacrosse comeback falls short against Knights

The Saints boys lacrosse team fell short in a comeback attempt against the Knights of Cary Christian/Grace Christian High School Co-Op on Thursday night. The Saints fell behind 2-7 at the half and rallied back to a score of 8-9 by scoring 5 in the 3rd, but ultimately fell short 9-12 as time expired.

What Happened
The Saints fell behind early, 0-4 before striking a goal of their own. In the second quarter, the Saints were able to tally in one additional goal but allowed in three to the Knights, with a 2-7 score at half.

The second half was a much closer contest, with the Saints netting seven goals to the Knights’ five goals, with a final score of 9-12.

Britt Gauquie led the Saints in points with 6 goals.

Ward Howdy won 15 of 21 face-offs (71.4%) and collected 12 ground balls.

In goal for the Saints was Bryce Keel, who ended the game with 48 minutes played and 7 saves.
