Podium results at the Conference Championship:
  • Luke McCarthy won first place medals in the 200 freestyle and the 500 freestyle, both events he will be swimming at States.
  • Caroline Williams won a third place medal in the 200 freestyle.
  • Abby Carpenter won a third place medal in the 100 freestyle. She did this in an upset out of heat #2, which means that there were 8 girls with faster seed times than she had, and she beat 6 of them.
  • The boys 200 freestyle relay (TJ Gribble, Michael Dunn, Michael Spong, and Luke McCarthy) got second place.
In our final meet of the season, we had three more qualifications for States. Two of these (Susan Williams and TJ Gribble) were from swimmers who hadn’t yet qualified in other events. This brings our total that have qualified for States to 8 (4 boys and 4 girls), by far the largest number of swimmers that we have had qualify. Those who qualified last night are:
  • Susan Williams qualified in the 200 freestyle
  • Abby Carpenter qualified in the 100 freestyle
  • TJ Gribble qualified in the 100 breaststroke
We had many best times of the season last night as well.  These include:
  • Caroline Williams: improved 200 freestyle by 2.5 secs
  • Susan Williams: 200 freestyle by 8.08 secs, 100 butterfly by 0.72 secs
  • TJ Gribble: 200 freestyle by 6.23 secs, 100 breast by 2.18 secs
