In just the second year of football, the Saints found their way to the NCISAA Div. I 8-Man Football State Championship but came up short to Arendell Parrott Academy, 40-13. The Saints finish the season with a record of 6-3.

The Saints started the game with all the momentum. After APA won the coin toss and elected to receive, the Patriots drove deep into Saints territory before turning the ball over on downs. The ensuing possession for JPII resulted in a 45-yard rushing touchdown by Rion Roseborough (15 carries for 126 yards) and the extra point attempt by Will McMinn was good. JPII stopped the Patriots offense on their second possession and were able to find the endzone again on a 7-yard rushing touchdown by Josiah Thompson (19 carries for 62 yards) to make it 13-0 JPII. However, that would be the end of the scoring for JPII as APA was able to slow down the Saints rushing attack, holding them to just 227 yards on the night. The Patriots scored two touchdowns in the 2nd quarter to make it 13-12 at the half.

JPII got the ball to start the 2nd half but punted on 4th down. The Patriots scored 28 in the 2nd half to win the state title.
